Privacy Policy
The short version
Your photos are processed entirely on your own device. They are never uploaded, transmitted, stored on our servers, or seen by anyone but you. We only store the minimum needed to run your account: your email address and name.
What we collect
Account information: your email address, name, and a securely hashed password. Billing information: payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. — we never see, store, or handle your card number; Stripe's privacy policy applies to the data you give them at checkout. Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) used only to keep the service running and secure.
Your photos and previews
SmileCast renders every preview locally in your browser using your device's own processor. Selfies and uploaded photos exist only in your browser's memory and disappear when you close or reset the app. Saved images are generated on your device and downloaded directly to it. We have no face database, no photo storage, and no way to access your images.
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies: two short-lived, httpOnly tokens that keep you signed in. We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share personal data with advertisers.
Third-party processors
Stripe, Inc. processes subscription payments. Our hosting provider serves the application. Both are bound by their own privacy terms and receive only the data required to perform their function.
Data retention and deletion
Account data is kept while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us — we will confirm deletion within 30 days. Payment records are retained by Stripe as required for tax and accounting law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK GDPR and US state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Email legal@smilecast.app to exercise any of these rights.
Children
SmileCast is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
